About HP Part Numbers

HP Part numbers can be found on certain items either as a label or molded into the plastic. If the part is user replaceable it will have Light Blue plastic visible (please see RM1-0037 as an example) all other items will need to be replaced by an engineer. Part Number formats differ between Products, Options and Spare Parts.

Product – usually relate to computing spares. If there is a “B” after the hyphen this is a product and is used for upgrading rather than repair. A product is usually made up of a number of different spare parts. Example of a Computing Spare Part number 301952-001

Options – Part number usually ends in an “A” or “B”. These are released when the printer is New and have a limited production span, Option Part numbers often have a Spare Part number equivalent.

Spare Parts – have two different part number formats, RM1-0036-020CN last 5 digits are not relevant to the part ordered. C8058-69003 the full part number is required to ensure the correct part is sourced.
